Portal for Residents of the European Union
Olympus Migration has assisted a significant number of European Union citizens and residents in migrating to Australia, both on a temporary and permanent basis.
Regardless of whether you are currently in Australia or overseas, we are fully equipped to assist you, provided you meet the eligibility criteria. Consultations can be conducted via Zoom, in person in Australia, or during our international business tours.
We successfully completed European business tours in 2023, 2024 and 2025, and our 2026 tour has already been scheduled. For dates and locations, please visit our Business Tours page.
As a full-service immigration firm, Olympus Migration provides assistance with all 100+ Australian visa subclasses. If your visa category is not listed on this page, you are welcome to contact us for personalised guidance.
Below we will present four of the most common migration pathways available to citizens of the European Union.
PARTNER VISAS
If your Partner is an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident, they may be able to sponsor you for a Partner Visa, even if you are overseas. There are several pathways for you to live with your Partner in Australia permanently.
Assessment of these applications is governed by the Migration Act 1958 (including ss 5CB and 5F) and the Migration Regulations 1994 (including regulation 1.15A), and decisions are made by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).
WORK VISAS
If you are highly skilled, qualified and have proven experience in an occupation which is on the relevant Australian skilled occupations list, there are several pathways for you to work in Australia temporarily or permanently.
Assessment of these applications is governed by the Migration Act 1958 and the Migration Regulations 1994 (including the criteria set out in Schedule 2), and decisions are made by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).
PARENT VISAS
If your Child is an Australian Citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident, they may be able to sponsor you for a Parent Visa, even if you are overseas. There are several pathways for you to live in Australia temporarily or permanently.
Assessment of these applications is governed by the Migration Act 1958 and the Migration Regulations 1994 (including the criteria set out in Schedule 2), and decisions are made by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).
AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP
If you were born in Australia or if at least one of your biological parents was an Australian Citizen on the day you were born in the EU or elsewhere, you may already be an Australian Citizen or be eligible for Australian Citizenship (by Descent).
Assessment of these applications is governed by the Australian Citizenship Act 2007 and the Australian Citizenship Regulations 2016, and decisions are made by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).
